I believe the contradiction of some Hadith, attitude of some Sahaba (such as Khalifa Omer) towards women and powerful Muslim males (from different levels) through history contributed to the degrading position of women. Unfortunately 70% of women (even those who has a good level of education) accepted the rules of the society, complying with its barbarian boundaries fearing the harsh punishment if they showed a hint of disobedience, or rebellion. I do not blame women as the law system in Arabic countries support the Muslim males authority.
