Dear Jawad: the Arabic word for matrices is مصفوفات and it is the fact that matrix multiplication is not commutative (A times B is not necessarily equal to B times A) what had led Heisenberg to his uncertainity principle. Most physicits at the time were familiar with Partial Differential Equations, hence Schroedinger Wave Equation was easier to understand than matrix computations. But now Linear Algebra s given at first year university education one could argue the opposite.
