Humanfulism : The Art of Being Human

Humanfulism is a philosophical theory which says that humanity consists of the possession of all the possible rights. From this perspective, a human being is that who has all of the possible rights, such as the right to be free, the right to be treated equally, and the right to socially, economically and intellectually advance and evolve. According to humanfulism, humans have a unique property called humanfulization, which is the ability to become fully and truly human in the sense of possessing all of the possible rights.

Humanfulism defines humans as nothing but the possession of all the possible rights. Hence, humans are different from other beings´-or-existents because humans have these rights which define them, while other existents, such as stones and rivers, lack the possession of most of these rights if not all, such as lacking the possession of the right to be treated equally. This is how humanfulism is successful in distinguishing between humans and other existents, leading humanfulism to gain this basic virtue. Animals have rights similar to human rights, such as the right to live, but don’t have most of the other human rights, such as the right to invent and develop diverse philosophical and scientific theories because they don’t participate in these endeavors. In this sense, humans are distinguished from other beings in virtue of the fact that humans have all of the possible rights, while other beings don’t.

For humanfulism, humans have all the possible rights, such as the right to be free, the right to be treated equally, and the right to advance and evolve, because without these rights humans lose their humanity. For example, if I don’t have these rights, I will be like a stone´-or-a machine possessing no rights, and hence, I will lose my humanity. In other words, humans possess these rights by definition because these rights define what a human being is. The fact that humans are by definition the possessors of these rights justifies the possession of these rights by humans otherwise we would be rejecting the true definition of a human being who is nothing but the possession of these rights. This means that humans are by definition entitled to have these rights because humans are by definition the possessors of these rights.

Since, according to humanfulism, humanity consists of the possession of all the possible rights, and given that the possible rights include the rights which we discovered in the past and the rights which we did not yet discover, it follows that we have to continuously search for and discover new rights in the future in order to be able to possess all of the possible rights and become actually and fully human in virtue of possessing all of the possible rights. This shows that humanfulism asks for and guarantees the continuation of our inquiries with regard to discovering and developing all of the possible human rights, instead of imprisoning us within the known rights and terminating any future advancement in developing more human rights unknown to us. And this is an essential virtue of humanfulism. Being human is a continuous project which needs to be continuously advanced through discovering and/or inventing unknown rights which define our humanity.

In addition, humanfulism is successful in accounting for justice as consisting of all the possible human rights, such as freedom and equality. Since, according to humanfulism, being human is to possess all of the possible rights, such as the right to be free and the right to be treated equally, and given that justice is nothing but respecting these rights and acting in light of them, it follows that humanfulism is successful in expressing and accounting for justice. And in virtue of this success we could rightly infer that humanfulism is a plausible philosophical theory. For humanfulism, the importance of being human resides in the fact that humans are the sources of all the possible rights, and hence, the sources of justice, which will guarantee the advancement of civilization and preservation of all kinds of life and existents.

Further, humanfulism accounts for the fact that humans are rational, moral, social, and political beings. Since being human is nothing but the possession of all the possible rights and acting in light of these rights, while being rational, moral, social and political are among these rights, such that we have the right, and hence the duty, to be rational, moral, social and political, it follows that a human being is nothing but being rational, moral, social and political. This shows that humanfulism is successful in accounting for all of the different aspects of being human.

Humanfulism is also successful in accounting for the fact that our human inventions and cultural achievements, such as in science, philosophy, and the arts, are basic components of being human. Since, for humanfulism, being human consists of possessing all the possible rights, such as our right to socially, economically, and intellectually advance and evolve, otherwise we will lose other essential rights (such as our right to live well and have better lives and our right to maximize our liberty through advancing and evolving), and given that we can only advance and evolve through inventions and cultural and intellectual achievements in the arts and the sciences, it follows that we could be actually and fully humans only when we participate in developing and/or endorsing scientific and philosophical theories and forming arts and/or enjoying their usefulness and beauty. This is how humanfulism entails that our inventions and cultural and intellectual achievements, such as our achievements in the sciences and the arts, are essential components of humanity. And hence, humanfulism is successful in accounting for the fact that our inventions and cultural and intellectual achievements define us as humans.
