Selling Water In Venice
By Mohammad A. Yousef
Most new starters in business start their work with utmost enthusiasm saying :
"I will make a product, and they will wait to buy, standing in a queue for the whole night."
In more than one month from the start they get shocked with bad news, and they realize that all their anticipations come wrong.
So many people have started with such a mindset, knowing they are building one of the best products that would change people s lives and future.
Sometimes, the lack of market study and people social values and needs becomes a barriar against the widespread and acceptance of the product.
In this context, it is not easy to sell 5G smart phones in places where people s main interest is to find bread and water and main sources of living.
Indeed , 5G smart phones can sell best with higher societies rather than poorer communities for so many reasons, among which comes the financial status and social values.
Indeed, the 5G smart phone product can change the lives of targeted areas, but it is only of no use to the people who have the minimium interest in it.
Unless you don t have a powerful strategy to put your product in front of target customers, you can t solve their problems.
As the cliche goes, "If you try to be all things to all people, you won t be anything to anybody." Meaning everyone can t be your customer.
You require a solid strategy to define who they are and where to find them, and how to make them notice your product. [More on this in upcoming parts.
Here is the best thing you can do:
1.Define the target market
2.Decide the problem.
3.Decide the solution.
4.Develop the product.
When you structure your product for a specific group, you are likely to attract them more than those founders target everyone.
You have go review the product regularly whether it needsī-or-not. You have to review brand failures around you and learn lessons from their actual factual experiences, otherwise you will sell water in Venice.
