Mr. Muhammad Asif Noor, an energetic member of Defend International (DI), has been appointed as Book Ambassador 2014 in Pakistan. DI congratulates Mr. Noor and wishes success with his new responsibilities. "We wish Mr. Noor every success in his new role and we are certain that he will accomplish whatever he sets out to do," said DI President Dr Widad Akrawi today.
The National Book Foundation Pakistan (NBF), which is a national service rendering educational welfare organization, has recently designated Defend International member, Mr. Muhammad Asif Noor as "Book Ambassador 2014." According to NBF, the appointment comes in acknowledgement of his "extraordinary services for the promotion of education, literature and culture within the international community."
"I am really honored for such a high level prestigious position given to me," said Mr. Noor yesterday. "Since 1972, the NBF is rendering services in the field of education, dissemination of knowledge, exploring international harmony through awareness of various global cultures." The new appointment will allow him to promote a peaceful image of Pakistan within the diplomatic community.
"I am confident that other DI members will join hands with the NBF in this intellectual pursuit of developing the love for books, and promotion of reading habits, particularly through the establishment of NBF s international linkages for book culture, peace and prosperity," added Mr. Noor. He has also affirmed to invite Nobel Laureates on literature and peace to Pakistan. "This would enhance and build up the image of Pakistan as a country with rich literature and heritage and spread the message of peaceful Pakistan to an international audience."

Mr. Muhammad Asif Noor is the founder, editor-in-chief of Pakistan s First English/Arabic/Persian multi-lingual magazine The Diplomatic Insight. The magazine has a theme objective of Peace Through Informed Dialogue. Mr. Noor is also the founder and -dir-ector of DI partner organization: Institute of Peace and Diplomatic Studies, based in Pakistan.
